The End of Serato Face????
ALMOST......If you're looking at this item you probably have a basic understanding, which is all you need, of how this product functions. As good of a product as it is, there are some shortcomings. For the ones who "stream DJ" or don't have a ton of music stored, stop hanging on to the "you can completely close your laptop and put it to the side" marketing campaign. The one thing it can't do is allow you to type in the search box. I DJ at home so I use a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse with a trackball. I could decrease that footprint by just using a mini keyboard with a track pad but I still have to open my laptop to type in the search bar. I have the Pioneer DDJ SP1 sitting on a DJ laptop stand with the Numark Dashboard behind it, then a tablet stand mounted to the laptop stand so the tablet sits above the entire setup. The tablet is not a necessary piece and with it not mounted it gives me a clear line of sight to the crowd and vice versa. I got mine from GC for half the price, used. I gave it 3 out of 5 for value because the full price after all these years is still ridiculous. And 4 out of 5 for sturdiness only because other than the stand it's made completely of plastic. So if you plan on traveling with it you might want to invest in the carrying case that they offer. I'm happy enough with it that I would've paid full price but "price watching" for a year paid off.****Update****(sighs),ok, so almost 3 months later(Oct 8) and my right screen stopped displaying information and gives me an Error message telling me to "Run Firmware Update Mode." Now you would think this is an easy process, open the app, run update, continue mixing. No!!! Apple decided to update the OS to Catalina, giving what functionality who knows since Mojave hasn't been out that long. Anyway, the Numark Firware Updater app is not compatible with Catalina, or at least not yet. However it has now rendered the Numark Dashboard useless. I'll update again if anything changes, but for now my gorgeous setup is now gorgeous with a big paperweight on top. Not happy at all.
